Crane duty classification depends on operating conditions, including working cycles and load spectrum. For general guidance, refer to ISO 4301-1:2016 — Cranes — Classification — Part 1: General.
Some workshops do not have suitable runway beams, crane brackets, or supporting columns. Existing factory buildings may also lack sufficient structural capacity for a new overhead crane installation.
For these projects, MOTCRANE can provide independent steel columns and runway beams as part of a Free Standing Bridge Crane system.
The support arrangement and floor or foundation requirements must be evaluated according to the crane loads and site conditions. A 5-ton free-standing overhead crane project in Spain illustrates this type of installation.
