In May 2023, we received an inquiry for the 5Ton FEM Standard Low Headroom Overhead Crane Exported to Thailand. The communication for this inquiry took 18 months as it was necessary to meet the building height restrictions of different factories of the customer while ensuring reliable and frequent daily operation.
These single girder low headroom overhead cranes, each with a lifting capacity of 5 tons, have a span of 19.5 meters and a lifting height of 6 meters, and are installed in 10 workshops.
Customer:A large manufacturing company in Thailand has invested in building a modern steel structure factory with 10 workshops.
(1)It took 18 months from inquiry to contract confirmation;
(2)The number of overehead cranes and the dimensions of the workshop and other data have been modified many times;
(3)There are strict requirements for the brand of the gear motor, and cost control is also needed.
(1) The building height is limited
The client wants the height of the factory building to give people a sense of being staggered and well-arranged, so the height of each workshop is different. They require the design of compact cranes without sacrificing the lifting height.
(2) Be very sensitive to the purchase price
The customer wants to purchase a low headroom overhead crane with a working grade of A5 at the price of a regular A3 grade.
(3) Specified requirements for accessory brands
The technical engineer of the client has two mandatory requirements:
♦ The lifting mechanism must adopt European-style electric hoists (working level A5), as they can adapt to high-frequency and continuous operations, are lightweight, energy-saving and maintenance-free;
♦ The running motor of the crane must be a German brand because they hope to have after-sales service locally.
To resolve the conflict between performance requirements and low budgets, our sales manager has prepared a structured comparison table for the client, which can clearly demonstrate the differences among the three solutions. The main comparisons are made in terms of price, core component configuration and long-term operating costs.

As a result, the client reached an internal consensus and officially chose option B: the Optimal Value Edition.
All 15 low headroom overhead cranes were successfully manufactured, delivered and installed, precisely matching the layout of 10 workshops. The crane fully complies with the A5 operation requirements and has been put into stable operation.
