2-ton Free Standing Jib Crane for CNC Cell, Precision CNC shop needed point-to-point lifting inside a tight cell where an overhead crane cannot be installed. We supplied a 2-ton free standing jib crane (5m arm, 180° slew) with an electric chain hoist + VFD trolley. One operator now handles loading, cycle time improved by 28%, headcount reduced from two to one.

Challenges

 

The passage is quite narrow, making it difficult to install the bridge crane track, and forklift operation in the fixture area poses safety concerns.

Clamping needs to be done frequently—over 60 times per shift—and requires precise micro-adjustments with minimal swing.

Additionally, the presence of bus ducts and piping further limits the available headroom.

Arm length: 5m, effective lifting height: 3.2 m, 180° manual rotation (optional electric).

European-style electric chain hoist (M5), two-speed/frequency conversion micro-motion; trolley frequency conversion to avoid shock and swing.

Low clearance boom structure, avoiding the wall-mounted bus duct; overall noise ≤ 72 dB.

Electrical: 380–415 V, IP55; Safety: upper/lower limit switch, overload protection, emergency stop; Paint color: graphite gray + warning yellow end cap.

Installation & Acceptance

 

We begin with on-site layout, followed by drilling, then carefully install chemical anchor bolts and reinforcing plates, and finally position and align the boom with precision.
All cabling is neatly arranged to prevent twisting, and we conduct thorough interlock tests for limit switches and emergency stops to ensure safety.
The crane undergoes rigorous testing, including a 125% static load test for 10 minutes and full-travel dynamic load testing of the trolley. We also verify off-center load handling and fine micro-movement control.
As part of our service, we provide hands-on training covering standard hand signals for hoisting, safe single-person operation procedures, and a simple weekly inspection checklist to keep everything running smoothly.
