Types of Overhead Cranes
Overhead cranes, as the core lifting equipment for material handling in modern industry, are widely used in workshops, warehouses, docks and other places for lifting and loading/unloading materials.
According to the main girder structure, there are 2 types of overhead cranes:single-girder bridge cranes & double-girder bridge cranes.
Single Girder Overhead Crane
Literally speaking, a single girder overhead crane is equipped with only one main girder, which is designed with I-beam structure or box girder structure. In addition, this type of crane also includes two end beams, an electric hoist and an electrical control system. Under normal circumstances, the lifting capacity of a single girder overhead crane does not exceed 20 tons, the span does not exceed 35m, and the working level is A3 to A5.
Types and Description of Single-girder overhead cranes
♦ LD:General-purpose electric single-girder hoist overhead crane. The main girder adopts I-beam structure and is equipped with CD type wire rope hoist (working level M3).
♦ LDC:European-style electric single-girder hoist overhead crane. The main girder adopts a box structure and is equipped with a CD type wire rope hoist (working level M3).
♦ LDX:High-end European-style electric single-girder hoist overhead crane. The main girder adopts a box structure and is equipped with European-style hoists (working level M4/M5).
♦ FS:Free-standing overhead crane(also known as workstation crane system), composed of a single-girder overhead crane, columns, load-bearing beams and tracks, is usually suitable for small-scale lifting tasks.
Double Girder Overhead Crane
From the literal meaning, the double-girder overhead crane has one more main girder than the single-girder overhead crane, and its load-bearing capacity is significantly better than that of the single-girder structure. The lifting capacity range of double-girder bridge cranes is usually 3 tons to 20 tons or 5 tons to 400 tons. The span and height can be customized according to requirements, and the working level is A3 to A8.
Types and Description of Double-girder Overhead cranes
♦ LH:Electric double-girder (hoist) overhead crane. The main girder adopts a box structure and is equipped with a CD type wire rope hoist (working level M3).
♦ LHX:Electric double-girder (hoist) overhead crane (European style), with the main girder adopting a box structure and equipped with European hoists (working level M4/M5).
♦ QD:General double-girder overhead crane (hoisting and winch structure, domestic hook type, working level M5/M6).
♦ QDX:Double-girder overhead crane (hoisting and winch structure, European hook type, working level M5/M6).
♦ QDY:Special overhead crane for metallurgical casting (used for lifting molten metal, working level M6/M7).
♦ QZ:Grab overhead crane (suitable for bulk cargo handling operations).
♦ QC:Electromagnetic double-girder overhead crane (specifically designed for lifting materials such as steel pipes and steel plates).
♦ QE:Double-girder overhead crane (equipped with two trolleys/electric hoists to meet special operation requirements).
