Jib Crane Solutions for Flexible Lifting Applications

MOTCRANE provides tailored jib crane solutions for workshops, warehouses, maintenance areas, and selected outdoor lifting applications, with technical coordination, configuration support, and delivery quality control.

What Is a Jib Crane?

A jib crane is a compact and easy-to-install lifting device designed for handling heavy loads within a limited workspace. It can be mounted on a wall or a freestanding column and uses a rotating arm and hoisting system to efficiently position, lift, transfer, and place materials.

Jib cranes are commonly used in assembly workshops, equipment maintenance areas, and specific outdoor locations requiring localized lifting operations, such as ship loading docks. Common types of jib cranes include wall-mounted, column-mounted, and articulated models.

Advantages of Jib Cranes

Efficient Lifting in Limited Work Areas

Jib cranes are ideal for localized lifting in fixed work areas such as workstations, warehouses, and maintenance zones. They improve handling efficiency while reducing manual effort.

Flexible for Indoor and Selected Outdoor Applications

Jib cranes can be used in workshops as well as selected outdoor lifting points such as dockside or riverside service areas, depending on the application and site conditions.

PREGUNTAS FRECUENTES

Here are some common questions about jib crane types, applications, customization, and project support.

What is a jib crane used for?

Generally, the basic specifications provided by the purchaser are sufficient for developing a preliminary design (load capacity, span, lifting height, indoor or outdoor use, power supply specifications, control method, operating frequency, and site photos or approximate dimensions).
However, to avoid misjudgments, it is best to also inform MOTCRANE of your intended actual workflow and operational objectives.

From standard portable, aluminum alloy, single-girder, and double-girder gantry cranes to custom heavy-duty solutions such as hydraulic gantry cranes, gantry transporters, and yacht cranes, MOTCRANE can provide tailored equipment solutions based on specific operational requirements.

This depends on the type of cargo, the operational workflow, the handling distance, and the on-site conditions. If you’re unsure which option to choose, we recommend describing your actual workflow to MOTCRANE—such as what cargo you need to lift, how it will be moved, whether cross-area transport is required, and any on-site constraints.

For needs involving loads under 3 tons and a smaller operational range, portable gantry cranes or aluminum alloy gantry cranes are typically suitable options.

For routine lifting operations within fixed areas in factories, warehouses, yards, or shipyards, single-girder or double-girder gantry cranes are usually the best choice. These types of equipment generally operate along fixed tracks and are suitable for repetitive lifting tasks within a specific area.

Hydraulic gantry cranes are better suited for the installation of large equipment, heavy-load jacking, and modular lifting in confined spaces. Since these operations typically require high precision during the jacking process and final positioning, they are more suitable for heavy-duty installation work rather than routine, high-frequency lifting.

Traveling cranes are generally used to transport containers, large components, or other long and oversized cargo across large areas. Common rated lifting capacities include 35 tons, 60 tons, and 80 tons. They not only provide lifting capabilities but also transportation capabilities. For shipyard and yacht handling applications, they can also be designed as specialized Travel Lift (Mobile Boat Hoist) solutions.

Yes. Jib cranes can be customized according to lifting capacity, arm length, lifting height, rotation angle, mounting method, and hoist type to match different project needs.

Yes. For portable gantry cranes, aluminum alloy gantry cranes, hydraulic gantry cranes, straddle carriers, and Travel Lifts, MOTCRANE will arrange for pre-assembly, commissioning, and functional testing prior to shipment to ensure that the equipment’s operational status and key functions meet the requirements for use.

For standard gantry cranes, due to differences in structural dimensions and transportation methods, full-unit pre-assembly is generally not performed. However, trial runs of the travel and hoisting mechanisms are conducted prior to shipment to verify that these systems are functioning properly.

In short, MOTCRANE arranges appropriate inspections and tests prior to shipment based on the equipment type and project specifics to help minimize risks associated with on-site installation and commissioning.
